Painted fantasy landscape — the art style of Quill & Wyrm

Session prep is a mess. It doesn't have to be.

Prep scattered everywhere

Notes across a dozen tabs, docs, and notebooks — and none of it findable at the table.

Tools that don't fit

Combat calculators with no story, wikis with no session structure. Neither is how you actually run a game.

Apps that want your login

Cloud tools take custody of your world. Your campaign shouldn't live on someone else's server.

How it works

Plan in beats, the way you actually think.

DMs don't plan campaigns as one big document — they plan them as beats. The ambush on the road. The tense audience with the burgomaster. The flooded crypt. Each beat is an encounter.

  1. 1.

    Start a world

Drop in encounters as fast as you think of them. A name and a kind is enough to start — half-formed is fine.

  2. 2.

    Build each encounter from sections

Boxed read-aloud, monsters, loot, NPCs, skill checks, images — ordered and rearrangeable, so an encounter is whatever beats you need.

  3. 3.

    Organize it all

Campaigns, nested groups, a cast of NPCs, and maps with pins that drill from region to town to dungeon.

What's inside

Everything before the table.

Modular encounter sections

An encounter is an ordered list of typed sections — read-aloud, environment, notes, monsters, loot, NPCs, skill checks, images.

Boxed read-aloud text

Write the text you'll read at the table in a WYSIWYG editor, stored as plain Markdown you own.

Nested groups, drag to organize

“Everything planned for the town” is a group. Groups nest, and everything drags into place.

SRD monster import

Search the 5e SRD via Open5e and pull a full stat block into your encounter or bestiary in one click.

World libraries

NPCs, players, lore, monsters, items, and maps — written once, reusable across every campaign in the world.

Maps with drill-down pins

Pin encounters, groups, and lore pages to an uploaded map — and pin maps to maps, region to town to dungeon.
